XTB Review 2026

XTB scores 82.8 out of 100, earning a place in the top half of our audit with consistent scoring across all categories. Publicly listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, XTB has been operating since 2002 and stands out for its award-winning xStation 5 platform and strong educational content. The main limitation is platform choice: xStation 5 is the only option, with no MT4, MT5, or cTrader available.

Overall Score: 82.8 / 100

XTB scores well across the board. Education at 88 places it third behind XM and AvaTrade. Regulation at 88 reflects the FCA license, Warsaw Stock Exchange listing, and 24+ years of history. The scores don't peak as high as Pepperstone's 95 in Platforms or IC Markets' 95 in Trading Costs, but the consistency earns a strong overall result.

Regulation & Safety

| Regulator | Tier | License | Entity | |-----------|------|---------|--------| | FCA (UK) | Tier 1 | 522157 | XTB Limited | | KNF (Poland) | Tier 2 | DDM-M-4021-57-1/2005 | XTB S.A. | | CySEC (Cyprus) | Tier 2 | 169/12 | XTB Limited (CY) | | DFSA (Dubai) | Tier 2 | F006349 | XTB MENA Limited | | FSC Belize | Tier 3 | 000302/438 | XTB International Limited |

FCA is the Tier 1 anchor. The Warsaw Stock Exchange listing (ticker: XTB) means publicly audited financials, adding an extra layer of transparency. KNF oversight as the home regulator in Poland is strong for EU operations.

Negative balance protection, segregated funds, and investor compensation up to EUR 20,000 (ICF) are provided.

Trading Costs

Spreads

| Pair | Standard Avg. | Professional Avg. | |------|--------------|-------------------| | EUR/USD | 0.92 pips | 0.10 pips | | GBP/USD | 1.40 pips | 0.40 pips | | USD/JPY | 1.20 pips | 0.30 pips |

The Standard account averages 0.92 pips on EUR/USD with no commission. That's a fair value for a zero-commission model. The Professional account tightens dramatically to 0.10 pips, but qualification requires meeting strict criteria.

Other Fees

  • Inactivity fee: EUR 10/month after 12 months
  • Deposit fees: Free
  • Withdrawal fees: Free (minimum EUR 100 for bank transfers)

Moderate fee structure. The EUR 100 minimum on bank transfer withdrawals is a minor inconvenience for small accounts.

Trading Platforms & Tools

xStation 5 is XTB's proprietary platform and it's genuinely impressive. Clean design, fast execution, advanced charting with 50+ indicators, sentiment data, and one-click trading. The mobile version is polished and fully featured. XTB has won multiple awards for xStation 5's user experience.

But it's the only option. No MT4, no MT5, no cTrader, no TradingView. If you prefer MetaTrader's ecosystem (Expert Advisors, custom indicators, established community), XTB can't accommodate you. And there's no API trading access.

No VPS hosting. No copy trading.

For traders who are happy to commit to a single proprietary platform, xStation 5 is excellent. For those who value platform choice, this is a dealbreaker.

Education & Research

XTB Academy is well-structured, offering courses from basic to advanced with clear progression paths. Webinars are regular. Video content is extensive. Market analysis is published daily. The economic calendar and calculators round out the offering.

Education scores 88 in our audit, third highest behind XM (92) and AvaTrade (90). For EU-based traders, XTB's education content is particularly relevant as it covers EU-specific regulatory topics and local market conditions.

Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Award-winning xStation 5 platform
  • No minimum deposit
  • Publicly listed on Warsaw Stock Exchange
  • Strong educational content (XTB Academy)
  • No commission on Standard account
  • 5,800+ instruments including real stocks and ETFs
  • FCA regulated with 24+ years of history

Cons:

  • No MT4/MT5/cTrader/TradingView (xStation 5 only)
  • EUR 10/month inactivity fee after 12 months
  • No copy trading
  • No API trading access
  • Professional account spreads require qualification
  • EUR 100 minimum for bank transfer withdrawals

Final Verdict

XTB is a consistent all-rounder that doesn't have any glaring weaknesses. The xStation 5 platform is genuinely good, the education is strong, regulation is solid, and costs are reasonable. If you're a European trader comfortable with a proprietary platform, XTB makes a compelling case.

The platform lock-in is the main risk. If you later decide you want MT4 compatibility or cTrader's algo tools, you'll need to switch brokers entirely. That's a bigger commitment than trying a broker that supports multiple platforms.

For traders who value platform flexibility, Pepperstone or FP Markets offer all four major platforms with similar or tighter spreads.
